satu syawal
once you've reached a certain age (read: no-more-green-packets-age), syawal brings a whole new meaning to your life. as much as i abhor the massive cleaning up, hanging of curtains and changing of table runners, it gives me much comfort and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside seeing everything in its place on the morning of syawal - where somehow magically, the bright sunshine creeps through the balcony window beautifully. such is life, irony at its best.
syawal this year would definitely not be the same. we'll have four instead of the customary five. (we miss you little sister. we'll sky.pe soon okay?) it'll also be the last year as a green-packet receiver (yikes!) though not many hand them out to me anymore other than close relatives.
