Who's Afraid of the Dark?

I have less than a week left up here in Bellingham. My last day is on Wednesday and then Im driving down to Vancouver Thursday to fly out to Utah to see Maeve graduate.

I was really upset about having to work today, there's a long back story but its besides the point. I ended up at the FF in the mall today and I was saying to the girls how much I was was not looking forward to work a stupid 4 hour shift. Less than a year ago the Bellingham mall flooded (first time I'd worked there in months and it fucking flooded) and we got to shut the store down. Last week they had a bomb threat and got to close for a couple hours. Anyways I said how I was sad because obviously neither one of these things was going to happen so that I didn't have to go. I must of had some stored up karma because we had a huge power outage today. Alger to Mt Vernon had no power- thats 20 miles N/S of each other and all the way out to Anacortes, 20 miles east of Burlington. It was a huge grid. No phones, no traffic lights, nothing. Our back up generator didn't even work. NADA. It was amazing. I literally clocked on, walked onto the floor, didn't even make it to the registers and Black. So, Whitney and I did a couple of transactions with handwritten receipts, cleaned up and locked the doors.

What did I do with my new found freedom? Nothing, haha.
