This weekend was great. I got to spend it with my best friends from home for the last time I'll get to see them until may, later for Hughins. Although it wasn't completely bumpless, I still had a good time, and felt awesome afterwards. I think that is partly because Say Anything was an amazing show. I have never been so close to a band I knew all the words for. I have never had the singer (and in this case the man who writes everything anyways) make eye contact and sing with me, or hold the mic right in front of me for me to sing my favorite lines. I have never been more okay with having no personal bubble whatsoever and being pushed around because of assholes in the back. The drive form Uconn to Long Island was well worth it. The Rocket Summer the night before was really good too, but all the 14 year old girls ruined it and kept us kinda far back. I met Bryce though, and he's a wicked good guy.
Maybe I just needed a weekend of 18 hours in a car with people I am pretty much fully comfortable with going to see amazing bands in order to energize me again. We'll see how this week pans out. Especially since I want to go see Frank Smith on saturday (maybe) and I am seeing Moneen on Sunday. I'm pretty much seeing all the bands that I have wanted so badly to see in one god damn week. Seriously, Moneen is the most talented group of musicians I have ever heard. Lyrically, they are clever, and certainly not trite. Musically they are original without being super fucking annoying, and it is so rich and complex and executed perfectly, but not with a mechanical perfection of skill, but mroe like an extension of themselves. I feel like I am writing a rave review for Rolling Stone. I'm such a tool.
Snap.
