Being back in Korea has been good. Mostly good just to be on our own again- making our own daily plans and not having to worry about how our actions will be interpreted by my parents or affect their moods. As much as I enjoyed seeing them, having to constantly be doing things to please them was not fun at all.
Getting my eye surgery done on Friday. The nurse that is in charge of me has been both comforting and terrifying. Comforting in that she assures me that things will be ok. Terrifying in that she relates bad experiences+ shows me what will happen if I don't follow the exact directions on eyecare post-surgery. She called me today to make sure I didn't have any questions, and I bet she'll call again tomorrow to make sure that I follow the pre-surgery instructions. Among a billion other things, I'm not allowed to wash my hair or face for the first 4 days after. Good thing I don't have to work.
OH! That's gonna suck because I've been sweating bullets here. The apartment air conditioner has been on non-stop. I turn it off for a few minutes and literally am soaked in sweat. Humidity is so disgusting.
Finished the book "The Dovekeepers"-- it's a historical fiction based on the mass suicide of over 960 people in Masada in Israel during the Roman invasion of 73C.E. Not something I'd usually read-- in fact, I had no idea what it was about when I bought it- but I was blown away but the writing style-- it was very elegant. I've been looking for books with strong female characters and I got it bwahahaha. Anyway, it was so amazing that I had to comment about it here!
Yay for being back in Korea!
