Gregory House M.D. (House)
Denny Crane & Alan Shore (should it count as one since they are from the same show Boston Legal)
Frank Black (Millenium)
Sam Winchester & Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
Seeley Booth & Dr. Temperance Brennan (Bones)

After thinking about this I think it's easier to like Duo's as they are written to be almost one complete person. *L* (Or maybe it's a truth that most humans are incomplete and need a second half to give them the balance and perspective to live a full life...) Most characters are written so poorly and one dimensional that they mean nothing and are totally forgettable. But the ones written with a partner have someone to bounce ideas/emotions/yatta off of that they are forced into a fuller role. What is Goren without Eames? Or Black without Watts & his family? Even House needs the rest of the world to zing off.

So now having said all that who are your top five favorite character partners/teams/couples? And Batman and Robin don't count. :P

For that matter what shows do you feel are the best written overall, again top five please. Curious Otters wanna know. ;)

Well, I thought of #4 while thinking of this. Special Agent Dale Cooper - Twin Peaks. Again with cops...

I can't come up with five but you ask for ten...

hmmm Duos
Mulder & Scully

yeah, i gotta think about more.

As for shows.
Babylon 5
Battlestar Galactica
Lost (maybe kinda sorta? I'm only up to mind season 3. Character writing is tight, but until I see whole thing I don't know about story.)
Twin Peaks (until it lost itself in the middle of second season)
Dexter

I think Eames is more foil than required.
