All the Hey! Say! JUMP members stole glances at each other. They were all sitting at a big, round table waiting for their turn to perform on Shounen Club and were all hyped up and ready to go. Except for one member, who's name happens to be Arioka Daiki. And Takaki, who was away filming for Gokusen 3. All the members had noticed Daiki's gloomy mood and were starting to get worried. He had his arms crossed on the table and his chin nestled in the middle staring at the big flower piece in the center of the table.
"Um, Dai-chan, are you okay?", Inoo asked hesitantly. He was, afterall, one of Daiki's best friends. It was only natural for him to ask this question, and yet he felt weird since the usually hyperactive Daiki was replaced with the one in front of him. Daiki shifted his eyes to look at Inoo through his eyelashes.
"Yeah I guess," Daiki mumbled. His eyes went back to the flower piece. Yamada and Yuuto stopped their hand game to look worriedly over at Daiki. I can't do anything about it, Daiki thought, so why is this bumming me out so badly?! We're going to be on stage soon Arioka. Forget it will you? Yamada opened his mouth to ask if Daiki was okay but thought better of it and whispered something to Yuuto. They both giggled and resumed their clap game, stealing knowing glances over in Daiki's direction.
"Daiiiii-chan, we're going to be on soon! Why don't you eat some of this cake that the staff left for us?", Chinen said cheerfully. He bounced over towards Daiki and started tugging at his arm cutely. He was oblivious to the darkening look on Daiki's face and kept tugging until he felt Keito wrap his arms around his middle and carry him away. Ryutaro observed all of this and looked at Daiki's face. He shook his head and went back to reading his manga. Really, who gets so worked up about such a little thing? Of course, Dai-chan's probably in denial as to why he's feeling so agitated but still...
"Dai-channnn, is the reason for your sudden depression because of a person?", Hikaru said evilly, knowing exactly why Daiki was so down. Daiki jumped at Hikaru's question and turned to look at him. Yabu smirked but quickly hid his face with an old issue of Wink Up.
“NO. What kind of question is that?! Absolutely not. No,” Daiki rambled nervously. He felt a blush creep onto his face and made a strangled noise of frustration. Hikaru smiled sweetly and went to go sit in Yabu’s lap to look at the magazine he was holding.
Daiki scowled at their closeness and went to go sit by Keito. He sighed in relief. Sitting next to Keito is like sitting in paradise. He's quiet and doesn't say stupid things like Hikaru, Daiki thought murderously.
"Takaki hasn't been here for awhile huh. It's not the same without him," Keito said thoughtfully. Daiki groaned. Not Keito too!! If Keito starts pressing a topic that you don't even want to think about...well, you've got no one else left on the planet on your side. He blushed at the thought of Takaki's name.
"I'm going to the bathroom," Daiki mumbled and quickly left the room. He made a few turns and found himself at the door of the main entrance. He slid down the wall and pulled his legs close to his chest. Why was he getting so worked up when he just heard Takaki's name anyways? Okay, Daiki admitted to himself, maybe I miss him a little bit. He bit his lip when he felt his consience tugging at his sanity. Fine, I miss him a lot!, Daiki hollered inside his own mind, Leave me alone!! He breathed in and held it. It's all Takaki's fault he thought, sulking. He's always playing mind games with me! Out of fury he shouted, "TAKAKI YUYA STOP PLAYING MIND GAMES WITH ME!!!"
"Uh...who's playing mind games with you?" Daiki gasped and looked up. Who else was standing there but Takaki, looking down at him with a slight edge of fear in his eyes.
"I...um....you...that....aslfjskd," Daiki jibbered hopelessly. Work mind! Work!, Daiki thought furiously. "W-why are you here? Shouldn't you be filming?"
"Oh yeah, filming was cancelled for today so I thought I would come and see you guys perform," Takaki said casually. However, he still eyed his friend worriedly, searching for any more signs of mental instability. Daiki felt a big, silly grin spread on his face. He was feeling such euphoria that he didn't even care what might come out of his big mouth and so...
"I've missed you! I'm sooooo glad you're here!" There was about a 3 second pause in which the two BEST members both acquired a different expression on their face. Daiki had a look of horror while Takaki's sported something close to a look of smugness.
"Oh really?", Takaki said teasingly, arching his eyebrow and looking down at the crouching Daiki. Daiki's heart skipped a beat and he jumped up to his feet to get rid of his sudden burst of energy.
"NO NOT REALLY!!"
"Well that's too bad cuz I've missed you a lot too and I even got you a present," Takaki said carelessly. Daiki looked straight at...looked up at Takaki and felt his cheeks turn pink.
"P-present?" Takaki grinned and swooped down and placed his lips on top of Daiki's. It was barely even two seconds long but Daiki felt immense amounts of blood rushing to his face. Takaki's lips had been soft and well...yeah, self explanatory.
"W-what was that for?!", Daiki hollered towards Takaki's back, who was already walking down the hallway.
"P-r-e-s-e-n-t," Takaki spelled back, disappearing from view. Daiki blinked for a few seconds and touched his hand to his lips.
Stupid Takaki. Always playing mind games on me.
