Let's do this
Hey guys! I'm posting to let you all know that I'm slowly working my way through the stories (there's a freaking ton of them, I swear!). I stopped working on my stories for the time being because I know there's going to be some tweaking to make them fit.
Which brings me to the real reason I'm posting: To let you know what topics I'm covering so I can place dibs on them. Because it would probably break my heart if I did all my reading, got next to done with the story and then found out someone else was working on the same topic. In that same vein, I don't want anyone else to start working on a story and then find out I'm doing it and wind up having to trash it.
Story #1: Covers Kaylee finally leaving Serenity and settling down. I'd been pondering what would push Kaylee into that action (because, let's face it - she's pretty much attached to Serenity at the hip) and then I was reading posts and saw a mentioning about not knowing how Kaylee winds up away from Serenity. So, that's what I'm working on. Aaaand, it also covers her first pregnancy.
Story #2: A River-centric fic that deals with her and Hank's relationship, though I've yet to pick a place in the timeline of their relationship to set this story. Mostly because I'm madly in love with them and I really want to write their whole relationship. Obviously, I don't really have the time for that. Otherwise I'd have a big novel about them. So, when I figure out the best place to write it, I will.
And, if my muse is still speaking to me after that, I may write another Simon/Kaylee fic which would help flesh out the timeline of their kids. I also may write more River/Hank ficlets because, again, they make my soul happy. And I was considering writing an Alley-centric fic but I'd need people's input about that. Because I'd like to explore Alley going away to school. Obviously, Core planets will have the best school systems and, while Inara's a fabulous teacher, kids need to spread their wings and explore to find their own path. I'd really like to see a story where Alley goes away and Inara and Mal try to get a handle on the situation. Also, I'd like to see the kind of woman Alley evolves into. But I'm not sure what people are thinking she'll choose as her occupation.
That's about it. If you have any ideas about Alley, lemme know. Otherwise, I'm going to go back to reading.
