Update!
So, news to all around. NOT coming home for Thanksgiving. For those that have asked. I only get 4 days off (2 plus the weekend) and it'll cost about $500, and I'll becoming home 3 weeks later for Christmas... so it's not worth the price to fly and it's too short a break to drive.
And this will be the last Christmas and Thanksgiving in Cincinnati for the mompers. My dad accepted a job at UVA so he's moving out and my mom is joining him after the wedding.. so in june. I don't know what's happening to the house or anything but my parents at least are moving to virginia. Just an FYI to everyone.
Up to lately:
I did a studio session on Wednesday night (Hector on Stilts, a local group). The band was really nice (have a concert this weekend I believe... offered us all an invite for tequilla at the pre-show party :p ), the music was great, I got to know some of the equiptment (the mics and the wiring and a little of the mixer), got to know the guys. Good time all around. Aparently they do live bands almost every wednesday night which means I'll get lots of practice. They record and do live-to-air so I'm going to learn how to use the mixer on the recorded stuff where if I mess up I can just undo or not save, and maybe eventually I can work the live-to-air.
Worked crew RPIA last night. Got a call at like 9, someone had an allergic reaction to something.. and of course before we got there, Troy Fire, PS, and Troy Rescue were there already and did a "why the hell are you guys here" kinda thing. We didn't get to do anything... but the guys were complaining about how Troy Fire was handling it. They were walking her down from the third floor, they said they hadn't checked breathing or anything like that (if you're having an allergic reaction wouldn't you want to know if it's causing the airways to swell up?) and I guess the guys (who work EMT other places) said they would have started her on benedryl (nebulizer i belive) right away.. but know.. they were just walking her out.... She didn't look like she was feeling too well.. But that's all we got.. no drunks at 3 am or anything... I'm signed up for next Thursday night too.
Worked yesterday.. got lots of left overs.... :) Little steaks and "lava cake" (aka.. suuuper rich, chocolaty, and squishy little cakes) plus some noodley thing. Good stuff.. Work tomorrow for the silly student leadership conference... but free food once again (can't complain too much). And apparently they love me (probably because I filled in a shift on short notice) so I'll be getting to do the cool shifts in no time.
Doop doop doop. I feel too busy... I love the social life that I didn't really have in previous years but I don't have the time to hang out in my room and watch random movies and color pictures for my wall or any of that random crap that I used to do... But I guess it's a good thing... make the most of my last year. :)
Guess that's it for now... need to do homework and eat before I go to class... (reminds me a little of free mods at UA. hehe)
