Milestone
So... Milestone in the life of Anna Momper. Last night at the hockey game I scored my first goal. It was the most pathetic goal I've seen in my life... but as risa put it "Hey, it still counts. A goal is a goal."
So. I was playing right wing in our zone. I was covering the boards and moving in to cover the crease. I'm halfway there and Ryan dumps it in my direction. Flip around and skate it out of the zone. I'm not that great and I don't trust my skills enough to skate it all the way to the other end without someone picking it off of me... so I hit the centerline, pass it towards the center, towards banon. I overshot and the puck just goes in their zone, not too fast since it was supposed to be a pass. Continues into their zone, straight for their goalie. I'm cursing at myself cause they'll have posession for it. The goalie just hangs out waiting for it since it's going that slow. And the kid must have blinked or something cause it didn't hit his stick and went straight through his legs at a crawling pace.
So yes. Anna scored her first goal from the center line. :p. Most pathetic goal I've ever seen but I was thrilled.
And yes we won, 3-2. I had the first goal on our team. The second one was like 40 seconds left in the game. And then the third one was with 11 seconds left of overtime.
I love hockey.
