Today, my cousin Aurelle and her friend Jenny are coming to visit me. This is the spring break of their senior year of high school, and they want to spend it - and all of their money - in sunny SoCal. Can't say I blame them - this was my favorite place to come for spring break when I was in high school. The first time I set foot on the UCLA campus was spring break of junior year, with Steve and my mom. Almost exactly a year later (March 25th, 2005) I got my acceptance letter. And just last week, I framed and hung my degree over my desk. Aww, I'm making myself a little misty-eyed.
Anyways, their flight lands around 5ish, and they leave painfully early in the morning a week from Saturday. About a month ago, I realized they were probably expecting me to, like, make some plans or something. So here's our itinerary:
Tonight: possibly stop at a sample sale on Melrose on the way back from the airport. Dinner at Jones at 8:30.
Saturday: Shopping on 3rd and Robertson or maybe the 3rd St promenade.
Saturday night: Joe and I have tickets to April Foolishness (i'm gonna see sarah silverman in person!!), so Anthony (whose sister is also going to be visiting) will "babysit".
Sunday: Anthony is making easter brunch. After that, we're either going to hike Runyon Canyon or go to Universal Studios.
Monday: DISNEYLAAAAAND with Aurelle, Jenny, and Joe. Monday is actually my two-year anniversary with joe, and our first date was at Disneyland, so it's very fitting. We have lunch reservations for the Blue Bayou.
Tuesday: Bring the girls to work with me for a little while, show them how glorious life is when you finish college and get a job (this is my dont-get-pregnant-kids role model moment). Then take them to the Westside Pavilion mall, and pick them up on my way back from work. Dinner will probably be at Kinaree, the thai place near my house.
Wednesday: Drop the girls off at the beach, go to work.
Thursday: We're going on tours of Blizzard and the LA Times, and possibly doing some shopping at the wholesale places downtown.
Friday: I thought they were leaving on Friday, so I have no plans for this day. We'll probably all be out of money and exhausted, so they might just hang out at my place and I'll work a half-day or something. my friend Lauren - as in, friend from high school - has a job interview here in LA and asked if she could stay with me that night. the more the merrier! we'll all get dinner and maybe see a movie at the NuArt.
saturday morning: wake up at 4 to drive them to burbank airport.
so yeah, i'm pretty pumped. at some undecided point we will also probably go to Hollywood & Highland and see the Kodak theater and the Ripley's museum and the wax museum and buy tacky souvenirs. we'll also go to Pizza Rustica, because I have a SocialBuy voucher for it (yes, I am a proud supporter of my company).
