A lot of mornings, when my alarm goes off, i wish I worked freelance.
Well, actually, the first thing I wish is that I had the power to slow down or speed up time. Then I wish that I was in junior high and it was my summer break and I could just go downstairs and play The Sims all day every day for three months. Then I try to be more realistic, and wish I was a successful author/screenwriter who stays home and writes from her sunny home office while drinking green tea and occasionally fielding calls from my agent.
but if this past weekend was any indication, I don't think any of this would actually happen. I would stay in bed until 2 in the afternoon every day, never change out of my pj's, and hurriedly get my work done as fast as possible on my laptop during the commercial breaks of whatever's on TV. i would occasionally venture outdoors to buy more Diet Coke and/or take out the recycling bin full of empty Diet Coke cans. Then I would play video games until 4 a.m.
This was my weekend, folks. Joe went out of town for 24 hours for his dad's album release party (literally flew to SF saturday afternoon and came back sunday night) and since he's so thoughtful and wanted me to be entertained while he was gone, he got me hooked on a game called Civilization 4. I'm literally counting down the minutes until I can go home, change back into the pajamas I WORE ALL WEEKEND, and play some more.
How do people have children and stuff? I don't understand.
