I went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios on saturday with Joe and two of his friends. We ended up being there from around 2 in the afternoon until almost 2 in the morning. And no lengthy meals anywhere. That's right: I was outdoors and on my feet for 12 hours. That is wayyyy over my limit of 1. My legs are still sore from all that time in line and running around the park.
Here are the four of us in front of the Bates motel, which is still standing and permanently resides on the Univ. Studios lot. The image is speckly because a person dressed up as a festering ghoul squirted it with a water gun.
We had a good time, although Joe promised he wouldn't make me go back to Universal for a while. We've gone... a lot. We have season passes. It's not that I don't like Universal Studios. OK, there are only like four rides, but they sell beer and you can walk around and drink it. Also, it's 15 minutes away from my apartment. What I don't like is that there is an overabundance of delicious greasy food and that walking around, getting hot, and drinking a pint of Bud Lite are a recipe for eating 20,000 more calories than I intended to. Also it gets windy at night. Brr.
But we did have a great time. Like I said, we never went out to eat - we got burgers and fries from Tommy's in Citywalk (basically fast food). Joe wanted to go running yesterday... pass. I played WoW all day and never changed out of my pj's.
Next week: Vegas! Yes, again! And maybe not even the last time in 2009!
My graphic design class at Disney starts today. It's 5-7. While I'm excited to learn something new, um, the idea of staying until 7 every Monday from now through December makes me want to slit my throat. Why couldn't it be in the afternoon. Or the morning. My 9-11 is free almost every day. Or even have the class only be 1 hour. Also, the training rooms here are easily the coldest ones in the building. As if the A/C weren't already blasting us in our regular offices, they turn them on in those rooms, and no one goes in there all day, and it's like a refrigerator. I bring my big comfy sweater. No dice. Still cold. I don't even get cold that easily. I feel worse for the women in there who wear skirts to work. I once actually lied and said I had to leave my Keynote class 20 minutes early because I absolutely couldn't stand one more second of being in there.
So, I'm taking this graphic design class. And I really do want to learn that stuff. I'm just going to be cranky about it. At least I remembered to bring extra food today.... nothing quite like being cold, on your 10th hour at work, AND hungry.
