what did i get myself into?

Oh man, so I arrived in Rochester today all excited to see my new house and begin meeting roommates. I get to the house and its small but cute and the carpet is nice and the walls recently painted. Then I see my room. First of all, the entire floor slopes downhill towards the back of the room. Very noticeably. As in, things could slide off a desktop kind of slope. Secondly, as I look around I realize that the room is considerably smaller than advertised. Which becomes increasingly important as the room was advertised as being pretty small to begin with. There are no baseboards and along one wall at the floor runs a row of exposed brick. This would not be so bad until you walk upstairs. Two of the girls have huge (25+ sq ft) walk in closets. Two of the rooms would entirely fit my room and closet in them with considerable space to spare. The walls are nice, the floors are nicer (and level), and no one has exposed brick jutting out into the room robbing them of very precious floor space. Now the catch to all this is that two of the girls came and looked at the house and never mentioned any of these (what I feel are rather large) deficiencies. I thought I was getting an equally nice room, just a little smaller. This is far from the case. To top the whole awful thing off the land lady did not replace the missing closet doors or hang the clothing rod as promised. I've only asked her about it three times. The combination of all this resulted in me dissolving into tears within five minutes of entering my new home. Now I'm looking online for a place to live while my parents contemplate buying the house down the street. They figure with the stock market being so weak, it might actually be the best investment they could make.
Welcome to med school.
