I was supposed to get my hair rehighlighted this afternoon, but Lynda's car broke down so she couldn't come to work. No big deal. Either way, I took Jon to work. It was nice to get to see him twice today--once this morning when we went to get "coffee" (I never drink coffee, he does) and then when I took him to work. Neither time was for very long, but I truly do live for those moments I get to spend with him. The good Lord only knows how much longer they will last before the 'long break.'
Either way, I had a bit of a realization on the way home...
It doesn't matter what happens to him. It does not matter if we are seperated for a long period of time. I know deep down in my heart that we are meant to be together, and nothing is going to change that. It's almost like I don't have a choice in whether or not to be with him. I do, of course, but I love him--and I would do nearly anything so I could stay with him. We are going to be together, period; end of story. Someday we'll get to the happily ever after, but we're quite happy with each other as it is. As rough as things may be, we find a way to be so happy when we're together. I have no idea how we do it, but we do. I thank God for him every single day.
Now..
The recital went entirely too well. Dress rehearsal was...well, it all went to hell, but that's all right since the next day everything was fantastic. I couldn't have been any more proud of my students. Just... WOW. And the compliments I received made me feel so great. The best of them came from Alyna's mom and April's mom who both were discussing the dances I choreographed, and they said, "I can really tell which dances are yours. All of your kids have technique. They're not all flying around the stage." Or something along those lines. The first line is what REALLY got to me. How wonderful a thing to say... It really touched me and made me feel that what I have been doing for the last 3 years is worthwhile. I wish I could post all the pictures, but they're huge as it is, so I figured I'd just show off my favorites. :) And here they are:
WARNING! Lots of Pictures
And my personal favorite of their class:
I love these kids--absolutely love all three of them. They are all siblings and all in my classes. :) Helen is one of the girls in my 3rd year class who is simply amazing.
Harrison
Mary Grace
The great thing about Mary Grace--She's in my 3/4 year old class and she had just woken up from a nap before she was going on stage. Her mother asked me to take her out and set her on stage--and she stood there, with her hands up to her face, the entire dance & didn't move... hahaha she's so damn cute it didn't matter! :)
Beginning ballet class whose dance included a teddy bear & was just adorable.
Claudia, who is in another beginning ballet class
Alyna- Helen's counterpart. The two oft hem are a GREAT team. I think I'm going to have a class with just the two of them & another girl who is about their age. :)
My entire 3rd year class... Helen, Ava, April, Katelyn, Alyna. Helen, Ava, and April have been with me since the very first class I taught. It's so wonderful to watch them improve every single year. :)
And my favorite picture of all I'm going to just post on here so everyone HAS to see it.. :) I am SO proud of these girls...
