Mindreading?
Working shifts means that I am not always on duty at the same time as my toxic boss. Whilst this can be a blessing at times, we do actually have to communicate with each other quite closely. Her style is normally to fire off a round of bullet like instructions or comments at the speed of light as she is walking out the door. My style is more - write everything down clearly to avoid misunderstandings. To help introduce her to this alien concept, I introduced a communications book when I was first put in post. It has worked well so far.
She stills struggles though. I notice that she has scheduled me for a meeting at 8am tomorrow.
That's it. Just the word 'meeting' after my name. At 8am.
I am completely clueless. She is not on duty tomorrow so it can't be a meeting with her. I have no idea who I am meeting, where the venue is or what it should be about.
I will just turn up tomorrow and go about my work missing whatever it is I'm supposed to do. I will have to wait for our shifts to coincide and then she will be like a bomb going off - why didn't I attend the meeting?!
I feel like scrawling 'With whom?' next to the message. That would show the cracks to the rest of the team though.
