The joy of Tekken

Dec 06, 2005 14:01

I've spent the last couple of hours playing Tekken 5, with my cousins watching and cheering me on. Then dear little cousin Kaity, who is a mere 9 years old, proceeded to play the game as Asuka. Not only did she do better than I thought she would, but she completely flattened Paul, Kazuya, and Jack-5. In a row. She didn't make it past the 4th level, but just the fact that she was able to make it that far in the game impressed me. We eventually started two-player, and she kicked my butt three times. (Of course, I kicked her butt four or five times; just because she's my cousin doesn't mean that I'm gonna go easy on her. ^_^)

But I feel rather pleased with myself. I have begun the process of corrupting my cousin towards anime and other weird/strange/fun stuff. Yayness!

[edit Dec. 8] Holy crappy. Kaity just informed me that she made it to level 7. That's higher than I went. Oh, and apparently her favorite character is now Nina Williams (no idea why, she's a snotty, snooty, evil bitch...Nina, I mean), and she wants to dress like her for Dragon*Con when she gets older. And Kaity, in turn, got my cousin Erin hooked on Tekken 5 while I was at work yesterday. Erin beat her twice, and made it to level 2. Not bad for a 6 year old. Okay, I'm done bragging on my cousins for now.
