The hols are coming to a close

I had a nice, quiet Christmas with my parents and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I always feel badly for the Smiths at this time of year. It must be very hard on them to not be able to look forward to Christmases with Zach, to know they'll never have any grandchildren to spoil. Zach wasn't always the easiest person to get along with, but I'd rather have put up with him than lost him.

Professor Snape seemed pleased by the ashwinder eggs. I hope he's able to use them. Poor man, it's really difficult on him when I force him to be social, but truth be told, I rather like the grumpy git when he's not being horrible. I don't think he's quite sure what to make of me.

Hannah sent me the cutest little badger charm. I'll have to find a chain for it. We Hufflepuffs are just as proud of our House as any Gryff or Slytherin is of their's.

After seeing Han, Ernie, Justin, and Harry at Wayne's funeral, I realized just how badly I've let my friendships lag. Hannah and I have promised to do lunch soon, but I'll have to make sure I keep in contact with the boys, too. I've missed them more than I realized.

I sent Greg Goyle one of those squashy stress balls, joking that he could use it when he has to talk to Professor Snape. He sent me a pretty bouquet back with a very polite note. I'm not sure why I contacted him except that he was nice when he came into the shop. Seemed like a good idea at the time. He probably thinks I'm a nutter.
