I suck at prompts and NEW USER PIC!!!

May 11, 2015 18:02

I just read a lot of the prompts over at the hp_crossgenfest and decided I have the most plain, boring prompts ever. I'm never really happy with my prompts and I always think other people are much more creative, but this time I feel it even more. I think it's because I don't have as much experience reading crossgen, much less coming up with prompts. There are so many freaking awesome prompts! That being said, I will admit, a few of them scare me a little. lol Everyone should take a look and grab one!

come join hp_crossgenfest!

Now, as for the userpic, it's a selfie taken by Dan Radcliffe after I saw The Cripple of Inishmaan on Broadway last year. Yes, that is me sitting kind of behind him. I never even thought of making that pic into a userpic until the last few days. Even then I wasn't sure about posting it because I'm in the picture too and my hair is all wonky and my makeup is about gone because it had been raining, but I decided 'what the hell'. He was so sweet and while I talked to him he looked right at me (still signing autographs!) like I was the only one there. Basically all I did was ask him if he was interested about my opinion of the play from my perspective as a paraplegic? That was the second he kept signing, but turned most of his attention to me and said "Yes, please, I actually would." I had more intelligent things I wanted to say, but I think all I said is I thought it was very well done, funny, touching and not offensive at all. Then I told him I also saw him in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and loved it too. He then said "So, I dragged you out here twice." I just chuckled and then left so more people could crowd around in my spot. He really is a nice guy!

Considering I'm now having to try to save $12,000.00 to buy a new (used) minivan complete with a wheelchair lift because the lift on my old van broke and you can no longer buy just the lift itself and have it installed into your own minivan, that will be my last trip for quite a while. It really sucks because the old minivan itself, while old, runs great. Evidently, you can still have a lift installed on your own full size van, but they don't make them for minivans. You have to buy a minivan with the lift already installed. I'm just glad I found a place that sells used ones because brand new ones with the lift would cost between &25-$30,000!!! I hate having to find a ride wherever I need to go; work, store...
