2010 roundup
This year's highlights:
* Shattered! Such a well written and stellarly acted show that exceeded my expectations by far! CKR's portrayal of someone haunted by his past and suffering from DID is just superb. \o/ Still crossing everything crossable for a second season.
* Canada vacation! I'm still thinking fondly of this and wished I could go back soon. It's a beautiful country, and the people I met were laid-back and friendly, and seemed to care about having a responsible, good life. (Not so great: A/C everywhere, even in mild weather. I felt like a shrivelled up raisin after some time. And I won't start about the beer...)
* dSSS! I'm halfway through with reading and looking, and I'm just amazed by the creativity and love that was poured into all these fanworks. Among my personal highlights so far are: 'Pas De Deux', 'Zugunruhe', 'Detective Raymond Vecchio's Protection by the Consulate of the Great Nation of Canada: An Illustrated Report by Constable Renfield Turnbull', 'Sui Generis', 'Out Of Nowhere', 'Six Hours That Change Nothing', and of course my wonderful gift fic 'Outer Space Is A Lovely Place'! * c6d fandom! I came into this fandom via discovering CKR on BSG in the summer of 2009, lurked and squeed a bit along the sidelines. In early 2010 I (unplannedly) stepped up, and inspired by all the creative people decided to start making fanart. I also made a BSG, a due South and a Shattered fanmix, as well as two CKR fanvids. * fangirl meet-ups! I met
mamaffy and
idreamedmusic back in January for the first of many times and was all YAYZ (though being nervous as hell) about having found these two awesome ladies! *group hug* In early summer I also met the very sweet
dvldb for a picnic and fandom squee (plus, we raided a public toilet - fun! XD). In fall, the lovely
roadrunner1896 and
tyrella_2008 came over for a visit, and I'm just hoping we'll have another, longer gathering next year. :D
