So as it turned out, getting hit with some kind of sonic taser? Not fun.

Kate was really damn lucky that the person coming up to her wasn't someone from Umbridge's cavalry. Instead, it was someone that had come out after her and was now coming upon her quickly.

"Kate?" he asked, kneeling down and frowning. "Christ, Kate, you better be alive."

Well, Kate was blinking up at him. So, that should have signaled she was alive, even if she could do very little else apart from looking a little like she had never in her life been as glad to see his scruffy face as she was right now.

Except -- hey, it seemed she could kind of wiggle the tips of her fingers now. Seemed the paralysis was starting to fade, if slowly.

"You're gonna make me carry you, aren't you?" Hannibal asked, sounding relieved to see she was alive. That meant he didn't need to yell or anything like that.

Yet.

He reached for her hand and hauled her up into his arms, using a fireman's carry since it'd be the easiest way to at least get off the streets and somewhere safe where she could recover.

"What in the hell happened?" he asked as he started moving.

Kate went to answer that question, but it came out as an incoherent mumble that might have been 'you don't want to know' as easily as 'ow my head hurts'.

Then she made a frustrated sound. Looked like she was going to have to give it a few more moments before non-garbled speech became an option.
