A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... (Saturday morning, Fandom time)
It is a time of conflict for New Republic hero KYLE KATARN. After dealing a crippling blow to the Empire Reborn with the destruction of Admiral Fyyar and the Dark Jedi Desann, Luke Skywalker offered Kyle a position at the Jedi Praxeum as a Master and Instructor. Concerned about his own history with the Dark Side of the Force, Kyle decides to delay the inevitable by taking a break from the galactic conflict while spending some time in Fandom.
Kyle's longtime partner, JAN ORS, has accompanied Kyle to a portal to Fandom...
"Are you sure you don't want to come with me?" Kyle asked.
"Vacation's over, Kyle," Jan said. "I have to get back to Alpha Blue. We hurt the Reborn movement, but it's still kicking."
"Yeah but with one less star destroyer and no more fake Force users, at least now we have the advantage," Kyle said.
"There you go saying 'we,'" Jan pointed out. "Are you sure you don't want to go with Luke? You could be teaching kids how to use the Force just as responsibly as you in no time."
"Cute," Kyle joked. "No, I just need a little more time. I've had too many brushes with the Dark Side. Hell, the last time I had an apprentice, I actually joined the Dark Side. I'm just not quite ready for risking that."
"Well, whenever you are ready, let me know," Jan said. "I'll give you a lift back to Yavin. Take care, Kyle."
Kyle leaned in to kiss her. They probably weren't going to see each other for some time, between her work and his search for balance. He wanted to make sure they had something to remember each other by. "I will," he said when they parted. "It's a tiny island on a planet in the middle of nowhere. What could happen?"
Sometimes Kyle forgot what his life was like. He walked towards the portal, turned to give a small wave, and stepped through.

SW peeps: Kyle's from 12 ABY, right after the events of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. It's also right around the time of Darksaber and Children of the Jedi. So that's nice.
