The
Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is from September 27 to October 12. I love seeing films at the festival, but rarely go due to disorganization/timing/not having anyone to go with. Well, my new motto is: fuck excuses, and just do it! So regardless if I have anyone to go with, I'm going! I'm currently only scheduled to work until the end of September, and at this point have no idea if I will have work for October (I really hope so). Right now, I'm only buying tickets for the evenings or weekends, because I know I'll have those times free if I do have work.
There are several movies that piqued my interest, so I decided to buy a pack of 5 tickets, as it's cheaper that way (and I got the student discount, as I still have a valid student ID). As of now, I purchased four tickets so have to see one more movie (although I can buy more tickets, of course). If anyone is interested in coming to the following films, I'd be happy to have some company. If no one can/wants to go, well, I'll just go alone--it's better than sitting around the house bored! (The old me wouldn't go if I had no one to go with.)
The movies I am seeing are:
When the Bough Breaks, Sun Sept 30, 7:45pm
We Were Children: Tues Oct 2 (my birthday!), 9:15pm
[seeing it with my brother's girlfriend]
The Hunt, Sat Oct 6, 4pm
[seeing it with
galactic, and possibly with our Swedish teacher]
Blackbird, Sun Oct 7, 3:45pm
I'm also interested in
The Last Friday and
Virgin Tales, although I have not purchased tickets for them yet, so I am not committed. Are there any films that I haven't listed that anyone would like to see?
galactic and I are also going to see
The Shining on Saturday Oct 13 at 9pm. Unfortunately The Shining is part of a different program, so my pack of 5 tickets doesn't apply, so I still have one ticket to use up!
