A Halloween Memory
One Halloween, my sister and I received handfuls of Tootsie Rolls from one particular house, as it was towards the end of the evening and the woman was trying to get rid of her candy stock. We had never heard of Tootsie Rolls before, and we thought they were the most disgusting candy ever. They were so hard that we could barely bite into them, and they looked like dog turds, which is probably why my sister called them "Doggy Casseroles".
To this day I still hate Tootsie Rolls, and I still think of them as "Doggy Casseroles".
