Why I hate people: reason #99
I'm sure most Vancouverites have experienced this at one point or another: you're sitting at a table in a public area or waiting at a bus stop, and a scruffy looking "deaf" person shoves a sign language booklet in your hand or leaves it on your table, right on top of your work, and then after handing out these booklets to everyone in sight, he comes back a few minutes later, hoping that you'll give him a "donation" for the booklet. I never give a donation and always give the booklet back because I'm a bitch, I don't know if it's a scam, and I'm irritated at being unnecessarily disturbed while doing my work.
Of course the reason for this entry is because this very thing just happened to me, while I was studying for my stats final. Of course I did not give a "donation", because I'm just too distrusting of people that I never want to give money in case it's a scam, and I can't fucking stand it when people dump crap flyers and such on my work or the table that I'm working at. Does anyone know if these guys are legitimate? Being the cynical person that I am, I doubt it.
