Leo the Late Bloomer

Finally, after more than a year of having this journal, I've made an icon! The reason why it took me so long is because I don't have a digital camera or a scanner, so unless it was an image that was found on the internet, I wasn't able to use it as an icon. Also, until recently, I didn't know how to edit and re-size pictures, and since LJ icons can't be more than 100X100 pixels, I still wasn't able to use images that I found on the internet (my lack of computer skills is pathetic). I do have other ideas for icons, but I need to scan the images and download them onto the computer and I don't have access to a scanner, but I was able to find one image that I wanted to use on the internet.

For a while, I've been thinking about what image would best represent me, and a few months ago, I decided that Leo from the book Leo the Late Bloomer is the best choice. As much as I love Curious George, I have to say that Leo the Late Bloomer is my favourite children's book. I read it so many times as a child (and as a preteen too), and as an adult, I figured out what the attraction to that book was, aside from the pictures: I, like Leo, am a late bloomer.
