[a few small pen taps start the beginning of the entry]
Does anyone happen to recognize the speakers, or words, or phrases, that have been floating around?
I have some suspicions. I have a lot of suspicions, yet no proof; but you'll pay.

Not the voices though.
I'd keep suspicions off the journal for now.

... Could I speak with you off the journals, then?

Sure. Bar's far away from branches private enough, wanna get a drink?

I'll be there shortly.

"Man, this shit's complicated."
[Fred the bartender stares at him but says nothing about the young man talking to himself. He's used to the crazy in the bar already.]
Reply
"I see why you thought this place appropriate. It's practically dead in here."
Reply
"West? Yeah, its usually like this in the afternoon. It'll pick up tonight."
[He stares at her for a split second, taking in the green skin. Then he mentally shrugs since hey, he saw SCALEY ALIEN DOGS in his memory, so a green chick isn't that impressive.]
"I haven't seen you around the journals lately. How're you doing?"
[After all, she's Spec--Fallen's friend. That's good enough for him.]
Reply
[A light smirk forms on her lips.]
"This song is not helping, though."
[She takes a seat across from him and folds her arm on the tabletop.]
"You mentioned you recognized some of the phrases people had been hearing...?"
Reply
"This song--Blood loves it. I can't escape it I swear."
[As she sits down he gets serious.]
"I think I'm pretty sure who the 'old man' is and why someone would think he's harmless. You know who Fugue is right? One of the oldest residents?"
Reply
"We have a mutual friend. I'd heard things in the journals before- that he's somehow connected to those mysterious notes and blacked-out entries that appear upon occasion. I know enough to know I don't know enough about him."
[She looked at him nervously.]
"Are you saying he... isn't harmless?
Reply
"Yeah, we have a few I think."
[He sighs and bites his lip thoughtfully. He looks around a bit and waits till Fred appears to be busy before responding quietly.]
"Fugue's ...strange. He seems like a huge dork. Clueless even--the guy's been here for who knows how long but he's never established any kind rules or setup for people?! He seems more concerned with how things look than how things are. At some level, he seems harmless...
But he's also paranoid. Extremely so. As far as I can tell he dresses like an old man with a fake beard and everything, but he's really young--almost my age, a bit older maybe? Yeah he does black out entries, I've seen him do it--rather stupid on his part. He also once thought space aliens were invading Edensphere--"
[He chuckles. Then gets pensive.]
"In all honesty I don't know what to think about him. I think he might be hiding something--why else would he be paranoid?"
[He pauses to let West absorb all this.]
Reply
"It would make sense, but... there's no proof of this, right? There's no proof that he's not actually as clueless as he's letting on?"
Reply
"Except...maybe. You weren't here, but a while back there was this strange guy named Twenty. Fugue and the former Captain of the Guard Drake were really suspicious of him...I dunno why. But Fugue kept blaming him for some of the weird shit that was going on. He said, something like he wasn't going to let Twenty take people away from him...it was just a really weird outburst."
[He shakes his head again.]
"Then again maybe, he's just really dramatic and spastic? You know I saw one of his memories once, on the fourth floor. It was...he seemed normal. Kinda sad but human. I keep trying to find him to tell him about that, but I can't find him. So then I'm back to wondering all over again. He seems harmless but he also seems suspicious. If he was that innocent, why can't we ever find him? Does that make sense?"
Reply
"What was so strange about Twenty, and what made him think Twenty was going to take people away from him?"
Reply
[He shrugs.] "Sorry. Twenty creeped me out more than Fugue. He...had strange powers. He could walk into people's dreams, sometimes even change them...he did that to me once and it was just...he was looking for something. I never figured out what."
[He shudders.] "That probably isn't that helpful, huh? Sorry man."
Reply
"No, it's fine. Thank you for telling me. I'll... talk to Bubbles. I need to see her anyway."
[She looks back up at Ghost.]
"Is there anything else....?"
