Frumble Stuck...

I forgot all about writing about this. I must have been in too great a state of euphoria. Anywho, I passed my first Microsoft certification exam last week. The 70-306, Developing widows based apps in VB.NET is history. I got a 825. Not bad at all. Its based on 1000 points, with 700 needed to pass.

Much celebration was had by all. Meaning me. I was worried when I was taking the test because some of the questions first appeared to be foreign to me. But after I got done, I had the chance to go back and review everything before I submitted the test. I found there were only like 3 questions that I used my deductive logic and totally guess at.

One down and two more exams to go for the first certification, a MSAD (Microsoft certified applications developer). I have already purchased stuffy materials for the next two exams. I figured the material I used for the first exam worked out well, so I might as well use the same stuff for the next two exams.

The next two are the 70-305, Developing web based applications using VB.NET, and the 70-310, Developing XML web services and server components with VB.NET. I am probably going to hit the 70-305 test first. Save the XML web services stuff for last. I have never had to work with any of that stuff, so its all new. I wish I had some practical experience to draw from. Its hard to grasp a lot of this stuff until you fire up the software and actually start building things.

Cleaning continues around the house. More junk was bagged up for the trash last night. Figure we’ve thrown out so much already, why not toss all the stuff we’re never going to use again. Like most house cleaning, nothing happens until your in a position where something has to be done.
