Try to tell me this isn't made of win:
THE FACTS:
- I married an artist.
- I myself have very little in the way of artistic ability (discounting music).
- We both have been wanting to create original things to decorate the baby's room.
- I have especially been thinking about this blanket I've had for a long time, a deep dark rich blue with orangey-golden stars and suns and moons on it. It's beautiful, and I've been wanting to replicate that color scheme somewhere.
- Our daughter will be named Lucy Beatrice Shea, after Lucy Pevensie in the Narnia books, and Beatrice from Dante and Much Ado About Nothing (one of my favorite characters of all time).
PAINTING IDEA:
A swirling starscape of deep, rich cerulean blue with golden stars rocketing around in an endless sea of joy and laughter, with an
inscription beneath:
But then there was a star danced,
And under that was I born.
BEATRICE
We sketched out some ideas last night, and I can't wait to see it realized. Now I just have to find an equally appropriate quote for Lucy... :D
