TV, part TWO

Dexter.

Man, I'm still not quite sure how LaGuerta zeroed in on Dex as the Bay Harbor Butcher so quickly, other than TV REASONS. But whatever. Something is going to go down with her soon. Especially since Dex is told she suspects him next episode. Yikes.

Oh gosh, Deb. DEB. Her head is just SPINNING. But she's regaining some ground now. And her whole: "I always give in to you. I'm not giving in to you anymore." speech to Dex. Ack! And then she is going to have an accident. And there must be a point that we were shown the bottle of pills she was taking, right? So, now I'm wondering if that will be why she has the accident but Dex thinks Hannah did it, and it proves the lack of trust there. That no matter how much they love each other, there will always be a certain level of suspicion between two serial killers.

I was thinking they'd end up with a sort of weird Hitchcock thing where Dex killed Hannah's father to get him out of her life, and the conversation between them on that point was so dubious that he might complain about Deb a bit and Hannah would take that as an unspoken plea to kill Deb for him. And so she'd try, and then the shit would hit the fan. I could also see them delving into Dex's struggle over that. Because having Deb out of the way would undoubtedly make his life easier at this point. But would he want that? Would he give Deb up to have the unrestrained life he might want? Or is Deb and his love for her worth the struggle inside of him? It is something he might need to think about. It was easier with Rudy, because Deb wasn't so entwined in his 'other' life.

Also, I like how Hannah is kind of laughing at his 'dark passenger' thing. And insisting it's not true. The killer is HIM. It's Dex. He is not possessed by some dark demon.

And when Dex realizes that just before making his kill, and he's all "FUCK!" I have to admit, I laughed. A lot.

I'm just enjoying the ride.

The Walking Dead.

Okay. Creepy guy back at the prison is going to die eventually. "You're 17? Interesting..." ICK! And then, lol, at him and Carol. "I thought you were a lesbian. You have the short hair!"

I'm really starting to like Carol a lot. Now I'm afraid they're going to kill her. THAT'S WHAT THIS SHOW DOES TO YOU.

Andrea, just... Sigh. Look, I do understand why she feels the way she feels. She isn't seeing what we're seeing. All she sees is this town and this man who seem normal, and it feels safe to her, and there are problems and red flags, but not enough to oust her back into the apocalyptic landscape. I daresay that most people would take an awful lot of injustice in their lives during the zombie apocalypse, if it meant they could stay in a relatively safe space with other people. So, I don't fault her there. But I don't know, man. I just want her to come back to the right side. Either she will, or they're going to kill her off, I suspect.

OH. Michonne comes in and finds the Governor's daughter, and ack! He begs her to not kill the girl, but she does anyway. And that felt SO HARSH. I guess, I was torn on that, and maybe we were meant to be. She could have just pushed the girl toward him and used that as her exit plan, because who cares if he's keeping his zombified daughter around. What's it to her? On the other hand, is it cruel to the little girl to keep her alive in that state? Or did Michonne kill her just to hurt the Governor?

The fight afterwards was brutal. I was okay with Andrea being the one to save him. That made sense to me when I think of what Andrea knows of the situation. And the fact that Michonne then sort of gave herself over to the group and asked to stay with them, in her own way, was worth it.

But Michonne's reappearance proves one thing to the Governor. Merle is a lying bastard! And when he then called Merle out as a traitor in front of the whole town, OMG. I felt simultaneously delighted and sorry for Merle at the same time, ahaha.

Except, of course, DARYL. Damn it.

ANDREA, HELP HIM!

Also, for God's sake this show is HORRIBLE with its inability to have two Black male characters at the same time. If one comes in, another has to die. It's ridiculous.

Now, we gotta wait until February.

The Vampire Diaries.

Holy crap! Elena is sired to Damon? lol, I totally did not see that coming! But I see it now in hindsight. Interesting! The one thing I do like about this show is its willingness to keep moving forward in a fairly decisive manner. It doesn't backtrack too much. If it decides on a plotline, then it commits. It does do a certain amount of resetting the status quo, but not nearly as much as most shows.

I'm still kind of bored with the hybrid storyline, tbh. And I think part of that is that I just do not find Tyler at all interesting on a personal level. I'm actually finding Jeremy more interesting than he is, weirdly enough. I'd rather they just get rid of Tyler's whole thing, and Tyler himself really, and use that time to focus on Bonnie. But, you know, personal preferences.

Anyway, just... Elena is sired to Damon. I hope we get more on this than Elena angsting and crying, and Damon and Stefan arguing. It could be kind of interesting to explore it all. BUT WE'LL SEE.
