I watch this show. Shut up. I love music. So sue me. I like hearing the different arrangements they make for popular songs. I... always think I'd love to buy a CD from the singers I like, but then I forget about them as soon as the season is over. And if they don't become actually popular, I never buy anything they make. Ahaha. Um.
But whatever! It's an enjoyable show to me. Here are my favorites this year.
Phillip and Elise singing Tom Petty's 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around'. I'd totally buy a CD of these two singing duets. TOTALLY! As long as they release it quickly while my attention is still engaged. Also, I was grumpy when they voted Elise off the show. She was the closest they got to a rock girl, instead of saturating the competition with cute pop girls.
And Phillip singing Damien Rice's 'Volcano'. Pretty amazing. He's a real musician, I think, not just a singer. Also, I think he'll win because he not only gets the 'cute boy' votes, he gets the snarky, jaded music fans' votes, and the indie crowd votes.
And my favorite bb, Joshua singing James Brown's 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World'. I wince when the judges gush over him so much though. I think they're hurting him with that in the long run.
