The newest SVU blooper bubbletweet from Neal Baer. lol. Marish cannot keep it together, and Meloni is amused. Also, I missed it the first time I viewed, but when she's trying to save her eye-make up and she's all 'If I look fine I am fine' when asked if she needs to stop, Meloni says, very softly, 'You look great'. And I was all *FLAILS*. And she's all 'thank you' and I'm all "Why? Why, you guys? Why aren't you married to each other??"
I don't think this is a spoiler, because I don't know anyone who tapes the Oscars and watches them later.
Kathryn Bigelow wins Oscar for best director for The Hurt Locker. The first woman EVER to win best director at the Academy Awards. Directing has long been considered a man's sport. She also broke a few ceilings by directing a 'male' movie about action and the military. She didn't just nudge those stereotypes about 'girls' movies' she fucking shattered them. It doesn't mean that Hollywood is no longer sexist, but every change has to move through little shifts. And this is one of them.
eta: btw, this is an awesome blog that I actually entered into the syndication line-up for LJ. womenandhllywd. She does a lot of great interviews with women in media and talks about relevant issues.
eta2: Also, after watching the Oscars, I kind of wanted Tina Fey and Robert Downey Jr. to make out a little bit.
