Here's a few links for you.
Also, a word about fic recs. I don't want people to feel bad about this, because I rec for many reasons. I tend to not rec drabbles, unless I feel some people might not know about particular ones, or they're hilarious. (Loci is a huge fandom for drabbles, and not so much with the full length fic.) I rec stuff that: 1) I feel are not necessarily very visible in fandom. And 2) I just read right before posting and I'm feeling the urge to post, so why not throw up a few links? It's really not about elitism at all. It's a service. In the SG-1 fandom we all recced stuff as a matter of course, because the fandom was big and there was always stuff out there on one person's flist that wasn't on yours. So we all did it as a way to get fic into the hands of people who would love it, even if it wasn't fic that was our cup of tea. We did it to keep fandom growing. I come from that place, and because I might not rec someone's fic, I don't want them to feel like it's a comment on their talent. Although, admittedly, I'm not sure how to NOT feel like that. I don't mean to make anyone feel like that.
In a similar bend, I guess I should say that drabbles and I don't always get along very well anyway. I am guilty of skipping over them and not reading. And when I do read I very often don't reply with feedback, so I'm sorry about that. I tend to not write them myself and LOCI is so drabble-oriented that I find it difficult to read them all. Again, not a comment on your talent. People who can write perfect, powerful drabbles are pretty amazing. And I am not one of them.
Having said that:
A new SVU person on LJ. You probably recognize the name from svufic.
ckdextrhaven wrote Chris/Mariska.
The End of Your Gaze, based on THOSE photos from this week. Go read and feed!
Also, Mousie from svufic has started a blog about her job and life. (She works in the entertainment industry, so for those of us fascinated with celebrity it could be GOLD. :P)
The direct link is here:
Confessions of a Hollywood AddictI syndicated it for LJ here:
Hollywoodanon (hollywoodaddict was taken. MEH.)
You can add it to your flist and read the entries, but don't reply to the LJ entries. Mousie won't see them. You have to go to her blog and reply there. But the syndication will keep you alerted to when she updates.
Now to the writing cave!
