i was watching a program on animal planet called weird, true and freaky. today's episode was about gross and freaky jobs to do with animal. the final one for the show had to do with captive elephant artificial insemination. apparently to get a bull elephant to... um... produce semen, is to stimulate his prostate while someone holds a collection device under the elephant to collect the semen. i just saw a man with his arm up an elephants ass stimulating it's prostate and calling him a good boy in the name of science!

i am highly amused and just a bit more disturbed than i already was.
