esozone was even weirder than i had anticipated. which says a lot, really.
just like pdx occulture, i was curious as to who would be the bulk of the crowd... skinny junkies decked out in posh black suits? pimple-faced basement mutants? racist gothed-out satanists? agents? cyborgs?
well, there weren't many of any of those things. most people were, for lack of a better descriptor, comic book characters. intriguing, quirky, and visually interesting enough to carry a story line. as for the event itself, it's hard to pick a favorite. the highlights for me were rex diabolos church's demon-summoning portal (yeah, srsly), deadletter ben's metavirus workshop (which spilled over into wes & edwards meme workshop), and johnny brainwash's "hey-let's-all-be-humans-not-freaks" discordian caucus and
postergasm discordian propaganda. like this:
totally disappointed that only a handful of people caught the music events- of which hecate's set and cult of zir's performances were amazing. but the few people that stuck it out seemed to be enjoying it immensely.
the mass performance went shockingly well. video and pics are soon to come, i'm sure. :)
