Mwaaaaaaaaaah. Busy busy busy with the internship stuff and work and school and lab. But, things are the good. I'm really hopeful that I'll get one of these internships. I'm kinda thinking about applying to one in California (mmmm, San Francisco). If I get into more than one, I'm not quite sure where I will go. New York would definitely be awesome. I've applied to four or so there. Heeeeeee.
Um, I have officially been inducted into Dr. Tucker's lab (or something like that). I'm going in tomorrow to pour gels with Josephine for polyacrylamide electrophoresis (wow, that sounds incredibly nerdy). The good stuff will start next week (Western blots!!!).
Our physics TA sucks. Boo. But, I've made two friends in the class and all seems well. The lab is definitely awful. Why why WHY do they make biology majors take physics. It's a waste of our time as well as a good way to make our GPAs fall that much more ::shakes fist::.
I'm going to bake Robert a cake in thanks for my letters of recommendation. I'm not sure which kind I should make. I gave Dr. Ulug ugly cake (heh, I just realized how fitting that was with his name) and a Starbucks giftcard (the man wrote 11 letters for me, come on).
Heh, Johnny had no idea what a phage was. I don't tend to think much of myself or try to act like I am super intelligent, but I do get a little spark of glee when moments like that make me realize how much of a nerd I am and that I'm perhaps not too dumb.
There is a severe lack of nice looking guys in the biological sciences at UT. It is decided.
I need to look over mycology and go to the bed of sleep. Night.
