Holy guacamole, that was fabulous. This entire paragraph was stunning, so I feel a need to quote the whole thing, and maybe even bold my two favorite lines in what is my favorite paragraph in my favorite fic of your challenge batch: For someone who wore his heart on his tattered sleeve, the very open nature of Glitch’s emotional state meant that the colors were simply not there. Raw needed to see inside someone to get a feel for their mood; with Glitch, there was no need to touch. The colors had long since leeched out, leaving only a blank white slate behind the twisting cacophony of moods that Glitch experienced on a daily basis.
I loved the rich detail in this one: the colors of happiness, how Raw notices "two of his fingers still caught between the pages" and how he has to learn a new way to pick up on things where Glitch is concerned but IS WILLING TO DO SO! Really beautiful. OK, I'm saving the last two fics in this marathon for later, like two more chocolates in the box. BBL. :D
*grins and blushes!!* Thank you so much for that, it means a lot! This was the hardest of the challenges, I think, because it's hard to know what direction to go with Raw half the time. It occurred to me that we see Raw touching DG and Cain in the series and having a deep, emotional experience from it ("You miss your mother, father..." and "Your son lives...I feel it..."), but the times he really touches Glitch it's only to reflect his memories or to search his brain - the feelings Glitch has are missing from the telling. So, there ya go, that's where this came from. In case you were curious. :)
