My House Interpretations
Gryffindor: Passion is found in every Gryffindor. They are the leaders. The optimists. The idealists. They don't let gravity pull them down from their goals and dreams. You can't reach too high! It's impossible for Gryffindors. They're bold and daring. This is commonly mistaken for arrogance. They are kind and live by their own morals. Don't mistake morals with rules. Gryffindors will fight for their beliefs and morals no matter the consequences (or rules broken). They go with their heart, rather than sense. They act now, think later. They speak out, tell the world what they think. They do have fears, because they are human, but these fears are overcome when it comes to fighting for something they truly believe in. Gryffindors live with a firey passion, although this passion is not always seen tapdancing on top of their heads with flashing lights. They are spontaneous and go with their gut rather than stopping to think things through. They are honest and do not try to act like someone besides themselves. Gryffindors can't stand to lose a friend. They also like to get attention, while the Slytherins are more subtle. They have high expectations that they expect others to live up to. Red is for passion and gold is for virtue.
Me: I am very passionate. If I am passionate about something, I can go very far to reach my goal. I try to be an optimist. I am an idealist. I dream big basically. I always reach the highest possible. I am considered arrogant by many (relatives *cough cough*). I get quite aggresive with my beliefs. I do go with my heart a lot (and I should probably think before I act more). I can't stand losing a friend. I strive on competition. I also like to be the center of attention. I also expect a lot out of people. I can be quite generous, but also greedy at times. I'm also very open.
What I'm not: I usually follow my heart, but not always. I do have a great fear of death.
Ravenclaw: The knowledge-diggers. Knowledge is more valuable than gold. If you ever hear, A wise man once said, that wise man was Ravenclaw. The thinkers. The analyzers. They aren't just book-smart. They don't just sit in their room reading all day. They aren't robots that spit out facts all day. Ravenclaws can be emotional and I imagine many are, because as one analyzes the world, one finds reason to be emotional. They notice the little things. They notice the details and never disregard them. They may know a certain person is loyal or not to be trusted unconsciously because of some little thing they noticed before. Ravenclaws are the wise, the ones who think things through. They do not necessarily go with the brain before the heart, but a Ravenclaw's brain will have some part in the decision. He/she will decide between brain and heart rather than going with heart alone. Ravenclaws do not need glory to prove their intelligence. They already know they are smart. They are usually composed and put together. They aren't easily disconcerted. Blue is for their composure. I read that bronze is known for calmness and even for judgement. Thus, it fits perfectly.
Me: I'm a total nerd. I think and I analyze a lot. I analyze people and I am very emotional. I do notice the little things when analyzing and I notice things about people unconsciously and then just know some people are dishonest, wonderful, etc. I hate not understanding things. I can't stand being the one who doesn't get whatever we're learning.
What I'm not: I'm not composed and put-together. I'm not calm and I don't have good judgment a lot of the time. Sometimes my brain doesn't even take part in decisions, but it does sometimes.
Hufflepuff: The patient. The hard-workers. The true. The loyal. The just. These people are sensitive. They are sympathetic. They will try to relate to you and help you. They are kind and modest. They are easygoing. They don't worry about competition. They do things for themselves. They are down-to-earth. They are open-minded. They are peaceful and sometimes accept things they disagree with to prevent conflict and chaos. This comes from their caring natures, which allows them to think of others and the effect conflict will have on others. It is not because Hufflepuffs are weak or cowardly. They are caring. Since they are loyal and hardworking, they will do anything for a friend who has helped them. They will never let a good deed go unnoticed. They are loyal to their friends and very fair. They will not judge others or give anyone more or less because of skin color, blood, etc. Mudblood is not in the Hufflepuff vocabulary. Yellow is for the optimism and kindness of Hufflepuffs. Yellow is bright, but not golden. It still shines, but it shines in it's own light more than in another's light. Gold and even silver glow more from outside light (praise), but yellow glows from the inside. The Hufflepuffs shine with their own pride in themselves. They do not need others' praise. Black is associated with hidden power. The Hufflepuffs have power, but they don't choose to strut around showing it. Black is also associated with grieving. This is relates to the Hufflepuff's tendency to empathize with others.
Me: I'm loyal and usually just. I always stand up for my friends. I like to help people and try to be nice. I try to be easygoing. I try to be open-minded. I try to be peaceful. I am caring. I am very hardworking when it suits me. I take the Ravenclaw's analytical nature one step further. I use it to understand people. I love feelings especially those of love. When I do analyze books for English class, I always love to do characterization most. That I think is Hufflepuffish because it has to do with understanding others. And of course, I don't let a good deed go unnoticed.
What I'm not: I'm not always fair and I am not always open-minded. I'm not a pacifist when it comes to arguments. I am when it comes to war. I am not hardworking unless I want to be. I don't only work for personal pride. I love competition and I do judge others even though I try not to.
Slytherin: The cunning. The ambitious. The selfish (not necessarily in a bad way. It's just putting yourself before others and self-interest). The strategists. The subtle. The persuasive. The sarcastic. The mysterious. Slytherins are ambitious, but do not just go after their goals with ambition alone. They go with their tools: cunning, subtlety, loopholes, strategy. They are less likely than Gryffindors to break rules to reach their goals because they use the system to their own advantage. They find the loopholes. They find the quickest, easiest way to reaching their goals. They go after their goals, as the Gryffindors do, but they are more realistic. They do not do things when they do not work out to their advantage. Not to say they won't go far to reach their goals. They go so far that people think Slytherins are evil. Not evil, just determined. They will join Voldemort simply because it is the qwikspell way to success. Not all Slytherins follow Voldemort, but those who do, do so because it is to their advantage. Everything is about you. How will it affect you. Will it work out to your advantage. Thus, Slytherins do not trust easily, for trust can be a very dangerous thing. A Slytherin's trust is hard to receive and almost impossible to get back after it is broken. They are very proud and will not hesitate to reject you. They do enjoy glory, but do not need it, as they already have plenty of it. Black is associated with power and Slytherins seek power. Green is associated with ambition and greed. Not that all Slytherins are greed. I see this greed as more of a self-interest.
Me: I have a lot of self-interest. I do care about others, but I never forget about my own goals. I can be quite the strategist. I am a bit selfish, but I trust easily. I do have quite a lot of ambition and when you break my trust, it is hard to get it back. I also can do a lot to get you back when you break my trust, so that is ambition and doing whatever it takes to reach my goal (revenge oftentimes).
What I'm not: I am not subtle at all. I'm very direct. I am not always selfish, but I can be. I hate sarcasm. I am not mysterious; I'm rather open. I will not always take the easiest route to my goals because I am virtuous when it comes to goals (I usually won't cheat).
So, as you can see, I'm not sure what house I fit into! I'm pretty sure I'm not a Slytherin, but what am I?
