He's enthusiastic, lively, aggressive, and courageous but also hasty, impatient, and inconsistent, often operating solely on feelings and mood. Despite being a little selfish and argumentative, he really does try to do what's best for other people.

Personality: Kamina is loud, brash, and arrogant. He is a boneheaded womanizer that appears to be clueless about other people's feelings though he does have occasional moments where he makes astute observations that no one else had noticed. He is extremely passionate about the goals he sets for himself and will pursue them without hesitation or fear even if it is seen as senseless. He is a natural born leader and will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
He is quite cocky at times and does not accept things as they are. This concept of not settling for less and for reaching for the stars provides the overall theme of the series, in which the characters eventually decide to ignore the fact that what they want may be practically impossible and try to get it anyway.
He's a fun-loving guy that has a ton of positive energy to spare. He has a knack for making fiery, overdramatic speeches. He never hesitates in anything he does, and just continually pushes forward. He doesn't care much for authority (as seen in episode 1 with the village chief and subsequent episodes dealing with the Spiral King and their oppression of mankind) and much prefers freedom and independence.
He is somewhat reckless and stubborn, preferring action over logic, and it takes some time for someone to reason with him. He does listen well though and often uses their opinions or ideas if he finds them useful. While he can come off as a bully to some, he doesn't like to see others pushed around especially if they have the ability to stand up for themselves. In those situations, he's very willing to boost someone's confidence and encourage them not to be stepped on.
Despite being an idiot, Kamina is a surprisingly fast learner in certain aspects (mostly mechanical things). After using a gunmen for a relatively short amount of time, he shocked both Thymilph and Viral with his piloting skills. Another example of this is when Yoko teaches him how to fire a gun in episode 3. Despite never using any type of long ranged weapon before, Kamina is able to use it extremely well for a beginner. His accuracy and aiming as a novice impresses even the sharpshooting Yoko.

"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
Kamina awoke with a gasp. The last thing he remembered was killing that beastman bastard, Thymilph. He had given Simon a few encouraging words and a sudden calm and pleasant feeling had enveloped him as darkness greeted him. He was almost certain he had died. But here he was, seemingly alive and well. He spent the next few seconds pulling at his skin to see if this was just some kind of dream but when his flesh ached in protest, he realized that this was, in fact, reality.
Taking in his surroundings, Kamina noticed for the first time, a stone altar protruding from the ground. There was a glowing box sitting on top of it and the altar itself was surrounded by a circle of water. Glowing items were nothing new to Kamina; hell, Simon's drill core blinked and glowed all the time and that was about as harmless as a mecha that can combine into the universe's most colossal mecha could possibly be! That's when the thought him:
What if that glowing box contained his very own drill core?
It all suddenly made sense to him! He was brought here to receive a new mecha, something even better than Gurren Lagann, that would allow them to turn the tables and end the bloody war currently ravaging the surface world. Abandoning all reason and caution, Kamina quickly made his way towards the altar, his feet kicking up water as he approached it.
A sudden searing pain on the left side of his ass nearly made him drop to the ground. It didn't last long but it was certainly uncomfortable and he clenched his teeth until the pain had disappeared. What the hell was that about? If this was one of Leeron's new gadgets designed to molest Kamina from beyond the grave then he was totally going to kick his ass. Or haunt him. Either way, Leeron would definitely pay. Rubbing his ass tenderly and looking around for the perpetrator, Kamina was surprised to see the water rising up around him.
He was surrounded on all sides and, as he looked around the watery prison, he noticed his own naked reflection staring back at him. It wasn't much different than normal but he was fairly certain he woke up wearing pants. Turning his body, he noticed a large, red mark on his left buttock.
"DAMN IT, LEERON! DAMN YOU AND YOUR INVISIBLE, FLYING ASS STINGER!"
Pushing his way past the water, Kamina approached the altar and quickly opened the box. There was no glow and Kamina couldn't hide his disappointment at the contents: a simple letter and some kind of mechanical device. After reading the letter, he took a hard look at the communication device. It didn't sound like he was the only one handpicked to grace this Zodion place with his presence and he needed more information. He wanted to know more about these twelve powerful bastards whose asses he'd have to kick.
