Locked to Housemates (918 Bilko Boulevard)

[Roxas wakes up with a start, looking around his bedroom for unseen enemies. He had just been in a fighting the imposter that had corrupted Xion's way of thinking... That's right, the other had just released the darkness and...

But this didn't make sense. He had lost consciousness on the battlefield, he ( Read more... )

[Had Axel not been a member of Organization XIII and doing almost the exact same thing Roxas was doing albeit a little more aimlessly, he may have missed his blond, long lost companion wandering around the same park he was cataloging. When he did see him, he stopped dead in his tracks.]

Roxas?

[What was up with this place? First he wakes up next to some strange woman then he finds someone who was supposed to be long gone? Absorbed, never to be seen again. He moved forward quickly, making sure he wasn't seeing anything or letting whatever it was that looked like Roxas get away.]

Is that you?

[He staggered and gripped his chest. Dammit. Stupid heart. He moved forward just a little more, trying to ignore the screaming pain pulsing through him, a pain no healing spell or medication could fix.]

I've finally lost it haven't I?

[Roxas halts at the voice. It couldn't be. For some reason each breath hurt, as he slowly turned to towards the sound.]

[But what was he doing here? He'd never leave the organization. So did that mean he was on a mission here? Probably here to take him back. To those people.]

[His hands went cold, and he balled them up into fists. He couldn't believe him. He didn't even know how he could've trusted him in the first place. Dammit, why did his chest hurt so bad?

He took a half-step back and turned away, before he softly said one word, and ran.]

No.

No? What the hell does that-Oh dammit.

[And he kicked it into gear, following his long lost friend. Sorry Roxas, but Axel had some serious speed on you. He managed to grab Roxas' arm and when he stopped running he effectively yanked him back.]

What are you doing? I'm not gonna eat ya.

[He didn't know the severity of the situation, not yet.]

[Roxas was pretty worn out from all the wandering around town. He was a lot slower than he was yesterday, and he knew it was from the town. Still, didn't stop him from trying.

It was inevitable that Axel caught him. Cheap advantage of longer legs. The other had caught his arm, and pulled to a stop causing Roxas to whip back, slamming right into him.]

Hey- Stop that. [He practically spit the words out as he yanked his arm out of Axel's grasp.] Or are you gonna use your usual violence to bring me back? [Not that he can remember who Axel fought to bring back... didn't matter.]

Bring you back? What are you- [Oh son of a mother duck. This place was just gonna mess with all of his perceptions wasn't it? Good bye linear timeline, the only thing he could ever really rely on.]

I'm not even with the Organization anymore Roxas. Besides, we are obviously not where we are supposed to be. I don't know what this world is, but there is a distinct lack of everything the Organization ever did. I don't think we're home anymore.

[He sighs.]

Is that why you ran from me? Because you think I'm gonna drag you back to...to them? [He practically spat the last word.]

[His eyes don't leave yours all the while you explain. He was looking for the lie. He was sure it was there. ]

So what? It's another world, one I'm sure the Organization would love to get their hands in too. [Is that why Axel was here? Running inspection for them? And he just happened to run into him?]

And what do you mean you're not with them anymore? Please. You're the one who swears by them. [Stayed with them. Not-Dammit, why was his chest still burning?]

[Look all you want Roxas because you wouldn't find one. Nothing but the truth was coming from Axel's lips.]

Yeah, probably because that's their primary concern. Only if this world is anything I think it might be, there is no Kingdom Hearts. There are no Heartless. There are no Nobodies. Can't you feel it, Roxas?

[And now he's clenching his fists because he really doesn't want to hit you Roxas. But the anger masking the pain was getting a little...overzealous.]

Dammit don't you listen?! I mean I left! Ditched. Ran off. Said Adios. Disappeared from their radar. How many different ways to you need to hear it? After you left, so did I. It wasn't worth it. Not anymore.

[Roxas bit the argument he planned to continue like he did his lip. He would contest the what he was saying... But Roxas had been all over this place, and not a single Heartless, no Nobodies. There was a lot of things that just felt off about this place. A lot.

He glared away from the facts, but didn't say anything.

Flinching at Axel's tone, he took a step back from him. He couldn't break eye contact this time. It felt like he physically couldn't. What he was saying... It couldn't really be true... could it?

He opened his mouth, but then shut it quickly, while raising his arm in front of him. To put a barrier inbetween him and Axel, or to reach out to him he really wasn't sure.]

So... You actually... Left? [And here's one more hesitant step back, just in case.]

[He sighed, the anger seeming to dissipate from his body.]

Yes, I left. They called me a traitor and everything.

[Either way he took hold of that arm carefully. He couldn't have you running away again. He wasn't sure if he could handle it.]

Look, I never got to say this before and then you were gone before I could get myself to do it. It was dumb of me. I should have said something. [He shakes his head.] I'm sorry, alright?

[He tugged back his arm a little, but not enough to make the other let go. He didn't... want him to.

He really didn't want him to. Suddenly he felt like if Axel let go, if he stopped holding him that it would all just... break. Axel would be the Axel of a couple days ago, with indifference in his voice, and avoiding looking him in the. It would break. He was sure of it.

The air in his chest hurt. It physically hurt. He tried to say something. Anything. But he could hardly open his mouth. Couldn't figure out anything to say. What if he spoke and that broke it too? He bit his lip before that could happen.

Roxas looked up into the other's eyes, but found his vision blurred. Oh no. oh no. He quickly looked down, and quickly covered the short distance between him and Axel, slamming his face into the other's chest.]

Axel.

[When he saw the tears forming in Roxas' eyes his heart dropped straight down into the pit of his stomach. Nononono. Out of all the people in this world Roxas was the last person he wanted to see crying, especially because of him. Had he already cried? Was it his own fault?

He didn't even need the time to react. As soon as Roxas was against his chest his arms were wrapped tightly around him. There was no way he was letting him go. The thought of somehow losing him again after all of this made it difficult to breathe.]

Roxas. [He swallowed in an attempt to make it so his voice sounded a little less shaky and his words came out in a whisper.] I'm not going anywhere. Especially not without you.

I- But I thought- [He quickly realizes that just like his eyes, his voice isn't working right. Through some labored breath he tries to clear his throat, or make his eyes stop leaking, or, well, anything. All he seemed he could do was to cling to Axel. His friend. His friend.]

[Breathe]

[Breathe]

[He finally brings himself to make eye contact, despite the dampness.] You mean that?
