Music, as Requested

Here's an incomplete list, as requested by Stripey:

From the electronica but not really electronica section:
Explosions in the Sky (mmmmm purdy)
Kuniyuki Takahashi (electro-jazz)
Fujiya and Miyagi (lyric heavy and melodic)

Amy Winehouse (sassy new take on the 50s, look for 'Back to Black')

Grinderman (haven't listened through it yet, but the preview sounded fun if not deep)
The Comas (nothing exceptional perhaps, but more pleasant than many of the other hipster bands in their genre)

Holly Golightly + The Brokeoffs (a little bluegrassy)
The Devil Makes Three (more bluegrassy)
Old Crow Medicine Show (kick ass bluegrass. catchy as hell)

Mississippi John HUrt (old, old blues)

Kate Tunstall (chick singer-songwriter with a lot of brains, from what I can tell.)

And, of course, a little more Gogol Bordello, nutty gypsy shit.

A little Taize was good while my grandpa was dying, and I got some more Ashley MacIsaac and Natalie MacMaster, celtic fiddle shit for those who swing that way.

Hope that helps.
