Ch: 3, A Commanders fault
Rating: PG..suggestive themes.
Synopsis: Commander A-9 has to meet with Master OS. We are hinted at why A-9 was sent away from his original post at Master OS side and get a little glimpse at who he is.
AN: Sorry, i'm kinda bad at writing those scenes.

It is still unknown where the indoctrination began but the first victim was ‘Adam’ often referred to
As A9. It is still unknown how Master OS took the leap from electronic Operating System to controlling ‘Adam’.
With control over Adam, Master OS proceed to begin the indoctrination of several hundred civilians and armed forces alike.

It happened before we could even notice, and when we did we had already lost our loved ones and our homes. There was no hope

The process had been completed as he dropped her now limp body with a deafening thud on the ground. The blood ran down her chest and completely down his forearm as the clenched his hand into to fist withdrawing the tether port. Her droid had crumbled within his hand as he looked at the remains. In its place a silver apple, which began to glow as it began initiate the conditioning process by erasing her memories and her OS.

He noticed her eyes had opened; she had regained some form of consciousness. He watched as her body began to convulse on the floor. Her limbs jerked back and forth in jarring positions as her heard the cracks of bones as the OS began the physical invasion of her body. The screams she let out sank to his soul like a pain worse than dying and he knew there would be no end in sight for her pain.

He turned and tapped his control as the door opened for him to leave. He was greeted by the Care Unit standing there as the moved past him and restrained the girl to lock her onto a gurney.

“The process will endure for 48 hours. Sedate her, we will have a better rate of success.” Was all he said as he walked away, soon joined by 8592X following behind unnoticed by him. He stopped as the flashes of the rebel’s memories were still in his mind.

“Commander, Master OS has received initial report and has requested a Comm. Link within the hour” as she walked along side him.

He pushed the flashes out his head as his mind didn’t have to wander far to understand what Master OS wanted to discuss.

“Very well, thank you 85-X” as he turned and headed down the corridor leaving 8592X behind. He was used to the looks by now as he walked down the corridor. The lower level officers and soldiers parted out of his way with sideways glances and whispers about him. Even he had thought it was unusual for Master OS to send him out from her side, he dare not to question it…not again at least.

He stood outside of the Comm. Room as he took a deep breath and with a quick tap of the right button the door swept to the side as he entered the room. He exhaled as he could see his breath. The Comm. Rooms always had to be colder due to the hardware. The room was dimly lit and bare except for the waist high input unit in the middle of the room. The floor of the room was what was unique have the projection ring technology built within it. By allowing 5 rings to rotate and project different spectrums of light they could produce life size and accurate projections.

He rested his hand on the unit as it locked it in and connected to his IOS. The rings began to spin as the light flashed in the room blinding him temporarily. When his vision returned Master OS stood in front of him. He remembered the soldier spoke of her taking different form unique to each person. It was possible but being as he had seen her from the beginning, he knew her true form.

She stood in front of him with alabaster like skin, piercing silver eyes, and the ever-shifting hair changing from soft shades of blue to the intense reds and greens. The form she had chosen was tall and slender most certainly over 7 feet but still attractive in all aspects except the emotionless face and the color calculating eyes.

“Master OS” A-9 greeted with a salute

“A-9, I have just received 8592-X’s report on the situation and your success with the conversion.”

“Yes, I have successful extracted the Rebel’s data log and initiated the OS overwrite, to be complete with 47 hours.”

“Why have I not received your personal report” she said coldly

“I had not prepared it yet, I am assuming 8592-X foresaw the success and partially constructed her report before hand.”

“Excuses will not be tolerated A-9, I will retrieve the data log now.”

The Comm. Link locked his hand into place as it started to warm as the data was being retrieved. He could feel Master OS inside of his mind. It was a crushing feeling as it felt like his mind was being ripped to shreds. He cringed as he fell to his knees, jarring his arm locked within the unit. The sweat began to bead as the process reached the end and the data was completely transmitted.

“Interesting, A-9 it looks like you still serve me faithfully….albeit hesitantly. I will contemplate this data though for now I will be sending your fellow commanders to oversee base operations and to prepare for a assault operation. Do not disappoint me again A-9

“Yes, Master OS” was all he could manage as the connection was terminated and the unit let go of his hand. He stayed on his knees in the dim room for what seemed an eternity as his body ached and his mind throbbed from her invasion. He was certain that she had taken more than just Dream’s data log as he finally managed to get the throbbing to subside. Standing his HUD slowly booted up again and his mind flashed Dream’s memories again.

Once again forcing himself to forget the memories he opened the door as the lighting in the corridor cause his head to throb harder again. He stepped into the corridor and ignored the pain as he walked towards his room. He knew his siblings would be here soon and with the recent events with himself he doubted they would be trusting off him.

He finally made it back to his quarters with out interruption as he stumbled in the door sweeping shut behind him. The days had faded away into evening and the lighting in the room was low and welcomed. He finally realized that he was covered in congealed blood both Dream’s and his owns. When he had fallen the unit had obviously cut at his wrist. He removed his shirt revealing his tan skin and walked towards his personal washroom. Removing the rest of his clothes and twisting the water nozzle the showerhead started to spray the warm water as he let it wash over his face and soak his hair.

He rubbed his arms to wash away the blood as the water stung at the cut in his wrist. The steam soon filling the room he allowed himself to relax as the hot water washed over him. He closed his eyes as memories flashed again. Her training, everything they put her through to make her a soldier was crystal clear in his mind. The friends she made and her superiors always pushing her harder. He gripped his head, as he couldn’t push the memories out.

He feel to his knees as the hot water pour over his back; the memories shifted to her first fight and her first kill against the corps. The adrenaline, fear, sounds, and smells invaded his mind. Then the request for a volunteer for this assignment, she had felt hesitation, fear, excitement, and determination. Her driving forces to put her up to it. Her farewells came through as the sadness overtook him and the tears ran down his face hidden in the stream of water. His head felt like it was screaming in pain as the memories finally stopped leaving him on the floor of the shower, panting for breath. He was only brought back to reality by the flashing in the corner of his HUD informing him someone was at his quarter’s door.

He turned off the water and climbed out of the shower, wrapping himself in a towel as he moved towards the door as it opened to be greeted by 8592-X.

“Yes, 85”

“I’m sorry to disturb you commander” as she side stepped him and entered the room. “Commander’s S-13 and W-1, will be arriving midday tomorrow and Master OS has scheduled a meeting for you three at 21:00 hours.” She said setting down her ever-present clipboard on the desk.

He knew he shouldn’t do it but he needed it to take his mind off of everything. He moved quietly behind as she turned around with the surprised expression on her face at his closeness. He gently wrapped arms around her waist as she tried to protest.

“…But commander we can’t…it…it’s against protocol.” She said barely resisting as he picked her up and leaned her against the desk as he pressed his lips against her. She was resisting at first, cold but soon to give him to her desires as she started to warm to him and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Commander…we…can’t, I can’t.” she said as he kissed her again as he pulled at her shirt exposing her pale skin and black binder that was issued for women officers. He threw the shirt to the side as he held her tightly again and carried her over to his bunk.

He laid her down as he removed the rest of her clothing leaving her staring at him with hazy eyes as she tried to cover her chest. A final act of defiance as he laid next to her.
