After Urahara's Escape

• When Rukia was brought into the Kuchiki family, Byakuya doesn't seem to be a captain due to a distinct lack of a haori when he met with her in the academy. Also, I'm pretty sure a visiting captain would have drawn more attention considering the turnout Aizen got. BUT THEN AGAIN I'm pretty that old fart who was plodding along after him was Ginrei so I could be wrong. Regardless, I'll stick to the fact that Byakuya was not a captain yet when Rukia graduated the academy and entered the Gotei 13.
• Pretty sure Kaien died before Zaraki got in. Tousen's hair then was somewhat similar to the style he was seen wearing in the Seireitei arc and if his past hairstyles are anything to go by, they change drastically when a long period of time passes. Thus, Kaien probably has no idea who Zaraki is. It was also mentioned 110 years ago that they had the tenth Kenpachi and Zaraki's the eleventh so...
• Probably lived long enough to for Matsumoto, Hisagi, Renji, Kira and Momo to be around due to the fact that Rukia was in the same year as Renji. This also means he lived to see Aizen become a taichou and Gin his fukutaichou. Which means Tousen probably made captain in his time too.
• Apparently, Renji cut contact with Rukia about 40+ years before the series began which was probably when she became a Kuchiki. Thus, Kaien first met Rukia roughly 40 years ago which gives him about 70+ years as a fukutaicho. He probably died within 10 years of meeting her since apparently they trained together long enough for him to help her gain shikai.
• He also died before the fall of the Shiba clan.

101 Years Ago

• Assumedly by this point Kaien had become a fukutaichou.
• Mayuri was working beneath Urahara.
• Shinji and the others are attacked/hollowfied by Aizen.
• Urahara is framed and flees.
• At some point, Kaien called Byakuya a ponce for something he did which was undeniably poncy. Because SOMEHOW Byakuya was familiar enough with Kaien to know what Ukitake was thinking about when he and Ichigo first met (which means he thought of it himself) and when Ichigo told him he'd still curb stomp the rules, Byakuya saw an after image of Kaien being angry at him. Thus, I have this strange feeling they argued a lot due to their personality clashes.

This means that Kaien was around for when the new captains were instated.

110 Years Ago

• Shinji was still a captain.
• The Shiba clan was still one of the five noble houses.
• Kaien had not yet accepted Ukitake's offer to become a fukutaichou.
• Ichimaru had just graduated the academy by breaking Kaien's 2 year record.
• Urahara was just promoted to taichou status.

Any stalkers who are reading this are free to drop their own notes/thoughts in helping me figure out who Kaien is gonna say "hi" to and who he's gonna go "who the fuck are you?" at. /sob
