Sam just blinked as she rattled off a rant full of more invective than he'd really thought possible without using a single curse word; but really, he had to keep reminding himself, this was Cordelia, and he was convinced that as far as knowing her went, he ought to get used to surprises. Especially eloquently vicious ones directed at the one person he was actually annoyed enough to think deserved them.
A grin spread across his face. "Well, if I wasn't already planning on taking you somewhere to ravish you," he murmured, "that would definitely have tipped the scales in your favor. I'm not exactly her biggest fan either. She's a vampire hunter though, huh." He snorted. "Bet you anything Josh doesn't know THAT."
Extracting himself and getting to his feet, he pulled her up and wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her other hand like they were waltzing. Except way too close to be any kind of waltz he'd ever learned. "C'mon," he said, kissing the tip of her nose.
As he was leading her backwards (well, backwards for him) toward the door, the jukebox switched on in the middle of a song.
She said oh you're so pathetic
yeah well so...you're so magnetic
I said hold up girl I know your game
Ah you want a sugar daddy you can tame
I said sing, sing me a song
And bang me like the girls in Hong Kong
I know I know I ain't correct
But politics are so much better when there's sex...
As if Sam wasn't already Practically Mister Perfect already, he thougth Buffy was Big Bad Bottle Blonde News! Yay! If Cordelia's hands weren't otherwise occupied, she would have actually clapped. But clapping meant taking her hands off Sam, and she wasn't too keen on doing that just yet, or anytime soon, really.
Squeezing his hand, Cordelia grinned as he kissed the tip of her nose, she moved forward slowly, letting him lead the way (even though, really, she was the one who could see where they were going).
They made it out of the rec room and down the corridor. So far, so not good. All the rooms were occupied, and it wasn't like she knew any of the people who actually lived in the compound good enough to call in a favor, so the stairwell was looking pretty darned good. Not for that, but, you know, for going down and finding someplace!
Jerking her head toward the stairwell, she quirked a brow. "I hear the storage room is incredibly scenic this time of day. Scenic in that 'completely private' kind of way."
