Dipping into a controversial subject *gasp*

I've been working all day and listening to Rush Limbah(sp?) (against my will, my dad listens to it when he's working, that or bbc or some australian news station) and I really liked the show today. He had a caller today who had been in Iraq (bagdad actually) for a month short of a year or so and who had recently come home and had been here for a month now. What he said was so good and it's what I had been thinking was true ever since the war started. The Media is blowing the war out of proportion and americans are really being ignorant when it comes to this war. He touched on when american troops were in Germany and Japan to 'straighten' them out and help the countries become safer for those living in them and he stated that it took numerous years to do so, seven or so in Germany. Therefore, he is really shocked that, since being home, he's been hearing that american people think we are loosing the war when it's only been going on for a very little time. He even stated that the Japanese were much more violent than those they are fighting in iraq and that, unlike the japanese, they are actually cowards. He also really focused on how the media has had such a huge part in the war. Once he came home, he said that what he had never been more scared of iraq than when he saw what the news coverage was. Never had he been so afraid of iraq even when he was over there in firefights. Something is obviously wrong here. He stated that the troops never complained about what they were doing and they actually were appreciative of their living conditions. Granted it's rough, but that's expected. He also said that most of those in Iraq want the americans there. It's just those 'bad apples' that act out against them that make this war hard to win. This is mainly because the arabian media over there and the american media is on every corner. They are only able to act defensively and this is only after they have basically been shot. Before, they were able to handle things better, but with all the media sticking cameras in their faces, they are only able to take a defensive stand. They aren't over there for oil either, that's what really pissed him off. They are there to make iraq a stable place. Once they put pressure on the al'queda and all, they will back down because they -are- cowards.

ok, I need to get back to work, I'll continue this later. I just needed to get it out somewhere so here works. I have a quota now that I need to reach. Blah.. work work work.

ps.. long boards on ebay and their prices are making me drool.
