I've never seen eighth grade math that had statistics (median, mode, std dev, etc.)

Had Chrystal take the test during break at summer school. And she was able to confirm that this is the Alg that we teach at 8th grade level at Jordan.

And this is stuff I remember taking for the first time in High School.

Those pesky kids and their newfangled math! (at least it's not New Math.)

But I agree - I didn't see much of that [in school] until high school. I don't think we ever did any statistics or estimaation at all. 8th grade was pretty limited to the basic mechanics of algebra.
