The Now Playing guide had August 6, 2006 dedicated to the wonderful actress Doris Day, who is one of my FAVORITE actresses. I was looking forward to a nice day with Doris and watching all of her films. Unfortunately, it has apparently been stolen from Doris and given to Robert Duval! Robert Duval?! What the crap? I don't know about you, but I do not consider him a classic actor along with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. I am very disappointed with you, Turner Classic Movies. Why was this changed when it was written up in the Now Playing Guide? This is not the first time something like this has happened. Get your act together or one of your avid watchers and readers is going to be leaving. As Mammy says in Gone with the Wind: It ain't fittin'. It just ain't fittin'!
Turner Classic Movies' Response:
Dear Viewer,
TCM's regularly scheduled "Summer Under the Stars" Doris Day film festival was replaced with Robert Duvall. This is due to TCM obtaining the rights to The Godfather and The Godfather II, and having only one month (August) to air them.
We will be airing the Doris Day films on Thanksgiving (November 23rd, 2006).
We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this has caused and thank you for your understanding.
Best,
TCM Web Staff
Thank you for contacting Turner Classic Movies. We hope we were able to properly assist you.
