There is no difficulty understanding America's love affair with the automobile when confronted with one of these beauties.




A rolling work of art. Elegance embodied in shining chrome and steel. Sleek and seemingly in motion even when at rest, how could we not build our society around her?



She is imbued with the optimism of a golden era. The atom was our slave and the heavens were our playground. The very stars were within our grasp. She was the manifestation of our aspirations, and our delusions.

Now we find ourselves hostages to her descendents. We are aliens in an environment that we built for her. They are not worthy, these nasty lumps of plastic and foam. Their Kabuki faces fashioned in ferocious snarls as if to frighten away our disappointment with reality and with ourselves.
