Inspired by my day trip to Borders.
You would imagine them in this section of Borders, separately. An old man that has been withered by years of life. The other a young man by relative standards, still in his twenty somethings. Dressed in standard youth uniform; baggy pants and a wife-beater. One is here to read up on the military and all things evil. The other to remember a time lost, one of heros, and bettering the world. For one moment the two men collide. In this section, they have found a common interest, though interest for different purpose still it’s common. They look at each other. One thinks, ‘greasy haired, dirty, kid, if I were your dad things would be different.’ The other, ‘maybe if I had someone in my life like him my life would be different.’ Then they would walk away, never knowing just how close they really were.
