amoama posted about the book, which she found RIDIC! BUT, ENJOYABLE! Among other observations, she mentioned the Squad dropping out of the story, which is a Sad Thing that should not have happened. (And I agree that it was because they were actually working-class, rather than just fallen on hard times.)
