Woolwich and Psych
In angry news:
- So I'm pretty sure that if those guys in Woolwich had stabbed a soldier to death while shouting about Jesus, they would be being called nutcases. But because they did it while shouting about Allah, we're calling them terrorists. For fuck's sake, that word is just meaningless by now. Or rather it is very very meaningful, it's just that what it means is 'Muslim who commits a crime', but we're all supposed to pretend that it means something different.
- And apparently we're supposed to be outraged, OUTRAGED I SAY, that they were 'known to MI5' for eight years but still managed to kill a guy, and I cannot read articles about this OUTRAGE without seeing a vision of the UK's civil liberties get chipped away at. Again. Even more. Shit, anyone who gets on MI5's list, let's just lock them up straight away! JUSTICE!!!!!!!
In other news:
- Still rewatching Psych, and cannot get over how in love with Gus Shawn is. I'm about halfway through Season 3, and my mountain of evidence is getting higher by the episode. He looooves him, but he doesn't think he's good enough for Burton Guster, and he's completely unable to handle genuine emotion, and it's just sad. And I think what the show's been doing wrong recently is forgetting how completely central Shawn and Gus are to each other. And Gus' face is flawless in every possible way, oh my God.
